Tim prefaces the prayer by saying that although most work and business meetings are routine, some are momentous, and the run-up to them can be stressful. The heart may sink or nerves may jangle at the prospects of a meeting. Will I get the job or promotion I have longed for? Will our firm win the contract? Will we get the grant funding, new equity or loan we need to keep the business afloat? Will a disciplinary matter be satisfactorily addressed and resolved? Will what’s happened mean that someone is out of a job, maybe even by the end of the meeting? And so on.
